Pote Law Firm was established in order to deliver high quality, cost-effective legal expertise to creative and social entrepreneurs.

There are many ways to create value in the world, and we believe that business can be a powerful force for good. Accordingly, we are committed to a mission that requires us to operate in a way that balances the interests of all of our stakeholders and to provide our services in a responsible and sustainable way.

We also know it is best to lead by example. As a result, Pote Law Firm makes the following pledges and our progress towards these commitments is continually measured and evaluated against third party standards.

Our pledge to our clients:

Of utmost importance for us at Pote Law Firm is the quality and dutiful performance of our services, and our chief commitment is to excellence in providing these services. Our clients are our top priority, and we produce effective, efficient and values-driven solutions for them.

Our mission emphasizes providing the highest quality client services and encourages collaboration with our clients to achieve practical and proactive solutions. Additionally, whenever possible, flat-rate or fixed-fee pricing is offered so that our clients are aware of the total cost of our services from the start.

But some people need additional options. For that reason, we provide subscription services for clients seeking on-going relationships and accept alternative fee arrangements from those looking for more creative options. (For more information, see Fee Arrangements)

Moreover, our goal is to work whenever possible with clients who produce direct benefits to our communities and environment. For this reason, discounted services are available to other purpose-driven or public benefit businesses that operate in the areas we serve.

As part of our mission to provide legal services to underserved communities and others who typically lack access, we also offer discounted services to clients from these communities as well as low-income individuals. We believe that building a strong community requires providing opportunities that bridge the gap between high quality legal services and individuals seeking to grow their businesses and potential.

Our pledge to our community:

We are only as strong as our community. This is why we are committed to promoting economic opportunities and encouraging the development of business as a force for good.

We aspire to demonstrate what businesses can contribute to our communities. While value is created simply by producing goods or services, we emphasize helping those entrepreneurs and businesses that try to do or create more. As a result, we are committed to assisting and promoting purpose-driven, public-benefit, and other value-enhancing businesses both locally and beyond.

As part of our mission to promote public benefit businesses and stakeholder capitalism, we also seek to educate the public and business community regarding the importance and value of social and environmental responsibility and the role those businesses play as a part of sustainable economic development.

At Pote Law Firm, we place a strong emphasis on community and pro bono service. As a result, we have joined the Colorado Supreme Court Pro Bono Legal Service Commitment and have pledged to provide at least fifty (50) hours of pro bono legal services each year.

Additionally, we have partnered with those firms that are part of the Modern Law Practice Initiative (MLPI) promoted by the Colorado Bar Association. We are honored to be a part of this initiative to provide high quality legal services to the approximately seventy (70) percent of the public that do not believe they can afford those services.

Our pledge to the planet:

We are a proud partner of 1% for the Planet. We all share this planet together and the health and survival of all living things depend upon protecting and preserving our natural environment.

We seek to ensure a world that is habitable for generations to come. Accordingly, we give at least 1% of all annual revenue to nonprofits organizations that are approved by 1% for the Planet.

We are also a proud EPA WasteWise partner and endorser, committed to an annual waste reduction target of at least 5%. In order to make sure our waste does not end up in a landfill or incinerator, we monitor our waste and continually try to find new ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle the waste we produce.

Business has the power to be an important part of the solution to environmental problems and we support those businesses both locally and globally. As a part of our environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices, our offices are nearly paperless, committed to recycling and located in LEED gold certified buildings. Furthermore, we give strong preference to vendors who support environmental responsibility, pursue public benefits, and operate with sustainable business practices.
