Jeff is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the founder of Pote Law Firm. Jeff has represented clients of various sizes, from startups to mature businesses as well as their owners and founders, in matters related to business formation, ownership agreements, trademark and copyright registrations and agreements, and various other types of contracts and policies.
Jeff’s clients span a wide variety of sectors, and he truly enjoys opportunities to work with creatives and individuals looking to operate their businesses responsibly, sustainably, and for the public benefit. PLF itself is organized as a mission-locked, public benefit corporation which emphasizes serving like-minded businesses that look after their stakeholders and operate as a force for good.
As an entrepreneur and business owner, Jeff understands the challenges that individuals and businesses face and believes that everyone deserves access to legal services. For this reason, he is committed to providing pro bono legal services and has been recognized by the Colorado Supreme Court in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 for fulfilling this commitment.
Before starting PLF, Jeff worked for a nonprofit, public interest law firm, the Equal Justice Center, where he gained considerable experience and familiarity with employment and contract law and the day-to-day operations of a small firm. His educational background includes significant experience with economics and philosophy, as well information technology work.
In his free time Jeff enjoys baseball, college basketball, and hiking, as well as travel and road trips - especially with his wife, Michelle, who is also an attorney. Jeff is also the proud father of a gray tabby cat named Winnie, who was born feral (having to be rescued when she ended up with a peanut butter jar suck on her head) and is now living her best life in Denver.
